ABOUT OUR SEASONAL PROGRAMS


Discover Armenia is the Foundation's educational visiting program, that is carried out every Summer in Armenia. It gives the opportunity to the young who reside in the Diaspora to interact and acquaint with contemporary Armenian life. An essential part of the tour schedules is dedicated to introducing cultural and historical information about the country and engaging the participants in various structured art workshops.

The Zakarian Foundation has a Representative Desk in Cairo that operates in Autumn & Spring. It organizes short-term programs (8-10 weeks each) of Armenian language and history courses, in which western Armenian language & literature are introduced. These Read & Write courses and the introduction to Armenian Tales & Legends are weekly meetings for all Armenian speaking youngsters ages 8 to 14 .. in groups of three.

The Conversational Armenian language courses with audio-visual facilities are for those whose mother tongue is not Armenian. It has a three levels of classes divided according to competence and skills. Each stage consists of 20 class meetings. The bilingual explanation is in English and Arabic. There are no age restriction.

Tutorials in Armenian Studies are weekly class meetings during February and March that introduce the following:

  • A historical background of the Armenian Question.
  • Genocide : The case of the Armenians.
  • Civics : The Armenian Republic's constitution.
