Album of our trips to Armenia

An Alternative Armenia 1999,
Amar 2000,
Hayasdan 2001,
Yerevan 2002,

These visiting programs pursued the young to interact with their cultural heritage, ethnic traditions and the daily local realities of Armenia. The class briefings helped them understand and appreciate facts about Armenia and the Armenians; it was conducted by a highly qualified and experienced staff to ensure that the outcome experience was original and comprehensive. The trips to the northern or southern regions of Armenia were during the long weekends, and the entertainment outings to theaters, opera, jazz concerts, and discos were considered essential to introduce the existing Art life. Meetings with remarkable people and with groups of the same age was also an integral part of the programs. The scheduled structured activities (Singing, painting, group poetry writing, group reciting, pottery, Wax molding, photography, mountain hiking) reduced the passive tourist attitude and created a team who’s willing to explore new dimensions. As a whole, the programs allowed the participants to tour the land with a unique experience, in search for their virtual identity.
Our planned visiting experiences had a tremendous impact
on the participants and their peer groups and parents. Armenia, the piece of land that was always in the textbooks and classroom walls, was an attainable reality. The souvenir videotapes and photos that were distributed on our return, illustrated all the fun, adventure, the variety of sites and the absolutely unique moments that the young experienced. It was a lifetime memory designed to be kept. We were able to shape a real Armenia in their minds with all its picturesque nature, its hospitality, the present burdens and the unshaken determination of its people, hoping that the reality seen, felt and stored would result into active involvement in the future.
